FitTrace for Sports Teams

July 2025 by FitTrace

DXA is a growing tool among sports teams.  Nutritionists, athletic trainers, strength coaches, physicians and others are incorporating DXA-based body composition into their programs.  FitTrace offers sports teams secure access to their athletes’ DXA body composition measurements, complete with comprehensive reports and integrated analysis.

How it Works:

The process varies depending on where scans are performed:

  • For teams with a DXA Machine: Contact FitTrace directly to set up your DXA machine for seamless scan transfers.
  • For teams that work with an External DXA Facility: Instruct the facility to use FitTrace on your behalf.

Once scans are sent to FitTrace, athletic staff can access them via the FitTrace app. However, it’s crucial to understand FitTrace’s privacy policy.

FitTrace stores scans on behalf of the individual that is scanned, in this case the athlete. Scans are attached to the athlete’s FitTrace account using their email address. The athlete then controls who has access to their scans. You must request your athletes to share their scans with athletic staff.

Many features in the FitTrace app are free, but sharing scans requires an in-app purchase. Both the client and athetlic staff need subscriptions. Pricing is very reasonable; at the time of this article’s publication, the cost was less than $25 annually or $9 monthly. Bulk discounts can be arranged by contacting FitTrace directly.
